Week 1 - Day 4 : Genesis 37

Read Genesis 37. God promised to bless a nation through Abraham, his son Isaac, and then his son Jacob. Jacob has also been named Israel by God, and he has 12 sons, who become the 12 tribes of Israel. As you read about these sons, ask:

1. What does it say?

2. What does it teach me about God?

3. How does God want to shape or transform me to be more like Him?

Pray: God, we see in Genesis such a rebellious people. You created people to know you, follow you, and help bring others to you, but we so often do things our own way. Forgive me for times I’ve chosen a path that was not as great as the one you intended for me. Please help me to follow you wholeheartedly. Show me the next steps you have for me today, tomorrow, next month, and this year. Help me to walk obediently.
