Pridefooled - The Lie of Self-Pity
Nov 16, 2025 • John Price
This message examines how self-pity, though it may feel natural in disappointment, is actually a form of pride that puts us at the center instead of God. Through the examples of King Ahab’s sulking and Job’s faith in suffering, we’ll see how self-pity damages our worth, relationships, and connection with God. Unlike self-pity, biblical lament turns pain into prayer and prayer into worship, trusting that “in all things God works for the good of those who love Him” (Romans 8:28).
